About Me

I am a Certified Small Animal Naturopath and a Certified Carnivore Nutritionist, but above all, I am a passionate advocate for the health and well-being of Golden Retrievers. My love for the breed runs deep, shaping every aspect of my life—from my devotion to my family to my mission of raising dogs naturally. I am blessed with an incredibly supportive husband and a beautiful life on our Idaho acreage, where faith, family, and holistic living are at the heart of everything we do. Two of my sons are grown and married, beginning new chapters of their own, while my younger two are still at home, being homeschooled through middle and high school. Our days are filled with learning, exploring, and fostering a deep connection to the natural world—something that extends to every part of our lives, including how we care for our dogs. Our family wouldn’t be complete without our four beloved Golden Retrievers: Jackie, Jessie, Riggins, and Josie (affectionately called Jo Jo). These dogs aren’t just pets; they are cherished family members who bring unconditional love, joy, and loyalty into our home. Raising them naturally isn’t just a passion—it’s a calling. My journey into natural rearing began long before I even realized it. In 2012, when my youngest son suffered a severe vaccine injury, my world was turned upside down. Once a perfectly healthy baby, he suddenly became critically ill—high fevers, respiratory distress, chronic rashes, and digestive issues took over his little body within hours of his shots. Doctors were nowhere to be found when their medical interventions caused harm. Instead of helping, they dismissed his symptoms, denied any connection, and left me to navigate his failing health alone. But I refused to accept that. I spent years researching, questioning everything I had been taught, and fighting to restore my son’s health. It was a long, exhausting, and expensive journey, but through holistic medicine, homeopathy, detox protocols, and a species-appropriate diet, my son healed. The little boy I was told would be nonverbal, sick, and forever autistic defied the odds. What I didn’t realize at the time was that this battle for my son’s health was preparing me for something even bigger. The same deception, the same pharmaceutical-driven mindset, and the same industry prioritizing profit over health weren’t just harming children—they were harming our dogs too. It was impossible to unsee the truth. The way I had once blindly trusted doctors to do what was best for my child, I had also once trusted conventional dog care—the kibble companies, the vaccine schedules, the chemical preventatives. But as I learned more, I saw the same patterns: a sick population, preventable diseases, and a system that convinced people chronic illness was just normal. I refused to accept “normal” anymore. My son’s healing journey became the catalyst for something I never expected—High Desert Goldens, a natural rearing breeding program dedicated to raising truly healthy, vibrant dogs free from the damage of conventional care. I had seen firsthand the power of natural healing, and now I was determined to bring that same truth to the world of dogs. Far too many Golden Retrievers suffer from chronic illness—cancer, allergies, autoimmune disorders, joint issues, seizures—the list goes on. Watching beautiful, gentle dogs decline due to vaccination, toxic flea and heartworm preventatives, and highly processed kibble was just like watching injured children suffer from unnecessary medical interventions. I knew there was a better way. I dedicated myself to breaking the cycle, questioning the system, and bringing back what was once common sense—feeding dogs real food, allowing their bodies to build natural immunity, and protecting them from harmful chemicals. I realized that by raising dogs the way nature intended, I could not only improve their quality of life but extend it—giving families more years, more memories, and more time with their beloved companions. For me, natural rearing isn’t just a method—it’s my life’s work. It’s a mission to restore health, longevity, and vitality to a breed I love so deeply. I know that real change starts one family at a time, one dog at a time. By standing against the outdated, profit-driven system and embracing a truly holistic approach, I hope to inspire others to join me in revolutionizing the way we care for our beloved dogs. Because Golden Retrievers—and all dogs—deserve better. And together, we can make that change happen.
